Welcome to PROLEC Professional Electrics Ltd
Professional Electrics Ltd (Prolec) was formed in 1992 with the amalgamation of several well-established electrical companies based in Canterbury, J.D. Doak Electrical Ltd along with the servicing arms of T.L. Jones Ltd and Aotea Electric Ltd. The wealth of experience in trade from these companies gave Prolec a solid foundation from which to grow and the later acquisition of Norm Smith Electric Ltd enabled Prolec to provide our customers with a specialist switchboard construction facility.
We are a multidisciplinary organisation with literally hundreds of combined years of knowledge in electrical and automation systems. Today we employ over 30 electrical staff in Christchurch, with a mix of software engineers (PLC, HMI, SCADA etc.), industrial servicemen, VSD technicians, switchboard construction, commercial installation and fit-outs, general servicing, office administration and electrical apprentices; our staff base is supplemented with subcontractors if required. This range of expertise allows us to offer comprehensive service and turnkey solutions to an array of industries.
We offer our services both New Zealand wide and internationally and are also supported by our Auckland branch which offers the same services as Christchurch.
Prolec’s company statement is to provide competence, quality and service.
Our competence in trade is illustrated by our certification as Master Electricians and commitment to having qualified staff that are consistently upskilling. All services operate under an extensive safety programme designed and documented in full compliance with electrical industry standards and the requirements of the Building Act and WorkSafe legislation.
We achieve quality by an investment in quality assurance systems, we gained ISO 9002 registration in 1993 (now ISO 9001:2015) after extensive effort by management and staff.
